Youth

The Youth Program is designed for those entering Grades 5-9 in September.

Classes designed especially for youth provide this age group independence to be with their peers, while giving them opportunities to join their parents in some adult classes.

Mornings

Monday to Saturday from 8:30am to 1:00pm, four classes are offered specifically for youth.

Choir

Learn a few songs, and then add some movement, to put together a musical theatre medley.

Percussion

Strike, shake, rub,... Here's your chance to try many of the pitched (glockenspiel, timpani, vibraphone,...) and unpitched (cymbals, triangle, tambourine, snare and bass drums,...) percussion instruments.

Take part in a piece written for only percussion instruments. No experience necessary!

Rock band

Riff on the electric guitar, keep the beat on the drum kit, and add some vocals to put together a rock band combo.

Instrument "Petting Zoo"

Try a new instrument! Learn how to make sounds on a saxophone, trumpet, flute or clarinet.

Put it altogether for a group performance!

Afternoons

After lunch, spend time with your youth, or let them "hang out" with their friends. Youth may join organized activities such as games and sports or they may attend adult classes such as Drop-in Singing.

We encourage youth who play an instrument to join Orchestra 101 after dinner.

On Saturday of camp week, the youth will put on a performance for all to attend.

All students under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult attending music camp.
Students 15 and up may attend as non-resident campers without a chaperone.

Mandatory Waiver form for participants 18 years and under.
